  7. Even if you aren't selling patterns (which would be amazing!), any chance you could give aspiring dr. who crocheters a few hints to get started?

  8. Hi, I'm trying to crochet a tenth doctor like the one you have here for one of my friends for her birthday (she linked me to this page and requested it specifically) and I was wondering: how exactly do you make such great hair?

I've been crocheting for a while now but I've never been able to make something that looks that good. Would it be possible for you to type up a short explanation on how you do it? I would be very grateful.

  9. Elementoid, The Tenth Doctor Hair has two parts, the sticking up bit at the front and the flat hair at the back. Starting at the front, I use a yarn needle to sew in loops of yarn. Get the loops close together so you can't see the skull colour showing through. The loops will look like the curly hair on the 5, 6 and 7 dolls. After a few rows of loops, stitch the flat hair over the rest of the head. (Don't forget to do the sideburns.) Once the head is covered I get some sharp scissors and cut the loops at the front. This makes the yarn stick up like spiky hair. Then it's just a quick trim to get the style right.

Hope the project goes well. I'm sure your friend will love it.

  12. Yeah, double what Natasha said! I LOVE the 11th doctor! If you're going to allow at least 1 free pattern or put up some, PLEASE make sure to put up eleven's!

  13. LOVE these, especially the little details you did to make each one uniquely THEM, from 4's scarf, 5's celery, 6's question mark lapels (and do I spot a tiny French knit "cat pin" on his coat?) to 10's spiky hair and the TINY FEZ!!! Too adorable!

  16. I would suspect that, as in the past with some other knit and crocheted Dr. Who items, releasing patterns of copyrighted characters and/or selling finished ones would be an issue with the BBC. Get their permission first if you're considering this. GREAT work!

  17. I am working on the 11th doctor as a valentine's day gift for my husband. I have most of it put together, but I am really struggling on the hair. Can you point me to a tutorial or give me a few quick tips? These are amazing! Thanks.
